Pre-debut Story

Before debut, producer Bang Si-hyuk ("Hitman" Bang) envisioned a hip-hop group at the then-small Big Hit Entertainment. RM was the first member recruited, followed by Suga and J-Hope, who came from underground rap and dance backgrounds.

The members trained together for years, living in a shared dorm and documenting their journey through blogs and logs — a habit of openness with fans that would define their career. Expectations were low for an idol group from a small company, which makes their later success all the more remarkable.
